On social media, the anonymous woman said: “A crowd funds a new mattress, not a begging station, although it probably looks like one.

“I’m absolutely desperate for a new mattress, but due to several factors outside of my control, I can’t afford one.”

She revealed she had seen one for £200 that looked perfect, but she only had £70 to her name.

Additionally, she said her current mattress was so bad that it was now affecting her overall health.

The woman continued: “A friend jokingly suggested a Go Fund Me and now the idea is stuck in my head.

I can’t, can I? Honestly, even writing this is making me feel like a sassy mare!”

The woman asked if there were any other options for her to raise the £250 she wanted to buy a mattress.

She also explained that she was recently in a car accident and had nothing to sell as she had to pay for repairs.

Furthermore, she was also unemployed, so she was not being accepted into financial plans.

It seemed like the woman was out of luck for a new mattress, but many tried to give her some options.

I’m ALWAYS hot so I tried cooling pajamas to see if they helped me sleep

The post on Mumsnet went viral, but many said they wouldn’t dare beg people to buy them a new mattress.

One person wrote: “Use Klarna or Clearpay… I could never beg for something like that. Most people I know can’t afford new mattresses.”

Another commented: “No way I would do that, sorry. I went through very difficult times.

“Sorry you’re having such bad luck, a decent mattress topper would help/be affordable,” wrote a third.

The best sleep routine and environment

Thomas Høegh Reisenhus, sleep expert and TEMPUR® sleep advisor, reveals the key components of a good bedtime routine and environment…

A surefire way to facilitate a better night’s sleep is to practice good sleep hygiene.

Establish a sleep routine that works for you and stick to it.

This will help your body establish a consistent and natural sleep-wake cycle, which can do wonders for your overall sleep quality.

As such, try to avoid making up for lost sleep by sleeping in later.

Instead of sleeping in, spend the morning reading a book in bed or drinking coffee in the kitchen.

Make sure your bedroom, bedding and sleepwear are also fit for purpose.

The ideal sleeping environment is dark, quiet and cool – much like a cave.

If you find that unwanted light sources are keeping you awake, consider investing in an eye mask or blackout curtains.

Adding upholstery can be a great way to reduce noise, with surfaces having an absorbent quality, but if that doesn’t work, consider adopting a soft soundtrack to block it out.

In terms of temperature, try to keep your room at 18°C. You can further reduce the risk of waking up due to overheating by ensuring all of your bedding and pajamas are made from natural, breathable materials such as cotton and linen.

Keep in mind that everyone is different; What may work for most, may not work for you!

While knowing how much sleep you should get, how to overcome common barriers, and practicing good sleep hygiene can facilitate a great night’s sleep, if you continue to persistently struggle with sleep or fatigue, don’t hesitate to consult a doctor or healthcare professional. to get support. .

Meanwhile, a quarter said: “Surely the obvious answer is to get a job and finance your new mattress yourself?”

“For God’s sake. Just no. Wait until you can afford it. Crowdfunding messes with my head. I hate begging and grabbing for it,” said a fifth.

Another person added: “Of course you can try, but I don’t see why anyone would donate? You might be lucky, I suppose.”
