On a Reddit publishuser Lrhun explained how her former friend managed to burn her bridges with her family, friends and fiancé on her big day.

She offered some context for the situation, revealing that her friend had previously accused one of her bridesmaids of being pregnant when she refused to drink.

When the flower girl couldn’t attend the ceremony because of chickenpox, the bride-to-be became nervous.

The Redditor recalls finding work intense outside of the bridal suite to avoid her friend as much as possible on the morning of the wedding.

She described the bridesmaid, the groom’s sister, as “deserving of a medal” for her patience.

“All day [the bride] there were constant explosions”, explained the author of the post.

“She made people cry, [including] wedding team and bridesmaids.

So when the bride asked for some alone time, her bridesmaids were more than happy to offer it to her.

However, as the time of the ceremony approached, the bride was no longer in sight.

Finally, the maid of honor informed the other members of the bridal party that the wedding would not take place.

I hate my mother-in-law – she interrupted my wedding vows and stole my favorite song… people say I shouldn’t have married my husband,

She revealed that the bride was caught with the groom having a “quickie” with his uncle before walking down the aisle.

The groom canceled the nuptials and the Reddit user, bridesmaids and guests left the venue.

That night, the poster said he received a call from his disgruntled ex-fiancee demanding that she cover some of the day’s expenses.

“According to [the bride]it was our duty as the bridal party to pay the cancellation fees,” she wrote.

Along with the £3,860 bill, the bride also said she was looking for somewhere to stay.

The Reddit user declined her former friend’s request and did not make contact.

She added that the bride had already asked her bridesmaids to shell out more than £1,500 each for the dresses.

The Redditor explained that the former bride now has four lawsuits against her, including one from the bridesmaid who covered the cost of the dresses.

Her ex-fiance was also suing her for the money she lost that day.

Reddit users shared their thoughts on the chaotic situation in the comments section.

“Damn, rusty metal, Batman. This is one crazy ride! She has the nerve to demand help to pay the cancellation fees for her bullshit. Wow. Wow,” one reader wrote.

“LMFAO, UNBELIEVABLE! I am so amused by the audacity of the brides. It never ceases to amaze me,” said another person.

“OMG I would love for this to be made into a movie or short film,” commented a third Reddit user.

“How in God’s name were you all friends with this woman!? She looks like a walking nightmare with a red flag,” said another reader.

How to Throw a Bachelorette Party That Doesn’t Break the Bank

Let’s face it, while it’s exciting to be added to a ‘WhatsApp Chicken’, it can also bring a sense of dread as you don’t know how much you’ll end up shelling out. According to Bridesbook, the average cost per guest for a UK-based hen party is between £370 – £640.

Luckily, if you’re planning one, there are ways to keep costs down for your chickens, according to Fabulous journalist Becky Pemberton…

  • Establish an affordable budget in advance and don’t overdo it! Raise the price during planning so you can keep track of how much it will cost.
  • Do it yourself as much as you can. Among your group, you will be able to save money instead of buying everything new. Does anyone have any leftover practically new decorations from another hen that they can bring? Maybe you could create some fun posters instead of buying everything new.
  • Consider a one-day event. While a whole weekend with your best friends sounds perfect, the most expensive part of an event is usually the accommodation. Could you find a way to organize an amazing dream day instead of prolonging it? You often still have fun and can wake up hungover in your own bed.
  • Plan cheaper activities. You don’t have to break the bank to have fun. Consider hosting your own DIY bottomless brunch, themed party, at-home spa day, or fancy meal where everyone contributes their own dish.
  • Host free games. Why not include some fun games that don’t cost a penny in your itinerary? Sir and Madam, for example, is completely free and is a great way to introduce the groom too. Scavenger hunts, mini-Olympics, and couples quizzes can also be fun if done well.
  • Includes all chickens. Does anyone in the group have a talent for crafts or baking? Asking people to help decorate or provide treats can help reduce your spending costs. You can also play to the group’s strengths if you have someone who can offer a free wine tasting or yoga class.

Hamish Shepard, Bridebook. with founder, added: “Consider heading to Brighton, Bristol, Manchester or Liverpool for an affordable UK hen party, or Lisbon for some international sunshine!

“Also, try to avoid booking your hen party during school holidays or long weekends when flights and accommodation will be more expensive!”
