A WOMAN has revealed she has discovered the secret to getting rid of weeds.

There’s nothing more annoying than spending years tending your garden, only for pesky weeds to spread everywhere.
But luckily, Nadine Maliszewski, a DIY lover and gardening fanatic from Melbourne, Australia, shared how she gets rid of weeds.
And you’ll be pleased to know that Nadine’s simple trick also works in less than 24 hours.
Plus, you won’t need to go out and spend money on expensive products, because thanks to this trick, you probably already have the answers in your closet.
Better still, if you have children or pets, you don’t need to worry as Nadine believes in her “safe” method.
Nadine took to social media to show off her herbicide hack – and she uses three household items.
She wrote: “The weeds will be gone in 20 hours. Safe for your pets and children.
The green-fingered guru then shared her advice, how in a spray bottle, she mixed one tablespoon of salt, one tablespoon of dishwashing liquid and 400ml of white vinegar..
The savvy mom simply sprayed the DIY solution onto her garden weeds and waited.
20 hours later, she gave her followers an up-close look at the sprayed weeds.
Although they were originally bright green, they were now brown and dead, clearly demonstrating the success of Nadine’s simple trick.
The TikTok clip, which was posted under the username @thegoldenmalasIt clearly left many speechless as it quickly reached 168,400 views.
What is a weed? And why are they important?
Simply put, a weed is a plant that grows in an area or space that you don’t want it to.
Rebecca Miller, associate editor at Fabulous and enthusiastic gardener, explains why gardeners need to become friends with weeds.
“From nettles, buttercups, docks and dandelions – there are so many wonderful plants that are called weeds. And yet, as soon as the weather warms and we spend more time outside, we want to pull, pull and kill as much as possible, to make our gardens look perfect and immaculate.
“Weeds are essential to our ecosystem – many are pollinators, providing food for bees, bats, beetles, butterflies, moths and wasps. And without weeds, these animals wouldn’t survive until early spring.
“Weeds also give back to nature – when they die and rot, their roots break, feeding microorganisms and insects and creating paths and tunnels for worms. Abundant life below means abundant life above.
“Weeds are also brilliant indicators of soil health – which is important if you want to grow something in your outdoor space. When microorganisms and insects break down weeds, they release essential nutrients into the soil that plants absorb. They also store nitrogen and carbon dioxide in the soil, creating cleaner air and removing greenhouse gases from the atmosphere, mitigating the climate crisis.
“So before you pull out all the weeds in your garden, why not give some of them a chance to grow and flower and see what comes into your garden to enjoy the flowers…”
Social media users were grateful for Nadine’s advice and many were keen to give it a try.
One person said: “I’m going to try your homemade drink.”

Meanwhile, other gardening enthusiasts flocked to the comments to share their herbicide advice.
One user recommended: “Boiling water does the trick.”
While a second chimed in: “Mix vinegar and bleach and then spray.”
