In the clip, she said: “I spent £70 on this job, lots of jewellery.

“It’s definitely worth more than that, so it’s okay. But I let my competitive side get the best of me.”

She revealed that she got caught in a bidding war on eBay for the mystery box and luckily won.

It’s important to note that mystery boxes are just that – a mystery, so there’s no way of knowing what you’ll get inside or if it’s worth the money.

Penny first chose an appointment charm bracelet, adding “we’re off to a good start.”

There were some custom jewelry bracelets, as well as a diamond-encrusted Micheal Kors bracelet, although Penny wasn’t sure if it was real or fake.

Her next The designer’s breakthrough was a Juicy Couture bracelet with multiple charms including a checkbook, gun and purse that sells online for just £60.

She also won a chunky bracelet watch from DKNY, which retails for £50 – meaning she had already made her money back with her finds.

But her search didn’t stop there, she also picked up a gold Kirks Folly bracelet – a brand she had wanted to have for a long time and was delighted to find it in its mystery package.

Then she found a YSL love heart locket in lipstick and sold for £130 online.

Last but not least, she found a Swavoski dog brooch which also retails for £30.

The clip has since gone viral on her TikTok account @penny_ with more than 77 thousand views and 6,000 likes.

People were quick to take to the comments, marveling at their outcome.

One person wrote: “You definitely hit the jackpot there.”

“Right!!! You should buy a pack hehe,” Penny replied.

Another commented: “That chunky DKNY bracelet is seriously STUNNING.”

“My God, how wonderful!! I’m so happy for you,” wrote a third.

Where to find mystery boxes

MYSTERY boxes are becoming increasingly popular, with people interested in taking a chance on purchasing one. But where can you get one?

Charity stores

Many charity shops have started putting together mystery boxes as a way of getting rid of stock that they would otherwise be unable to sell. While you can never guarantee what you will receive, these boxes are usually cheaper than those purchased elsewhere.

eBay

Many retailers use eBay to sell their inventory, with options on the auction site including unclaimed baggage or package returns all bundled together in a mystery box. It’s not like a normal ‘auction’ though – there will usually be a buy now price, so it’s like any other internet transaction.

Online retailers

As the popularity of mystery boxes increases, other retailers have begun selling them in hopes that they will be a hit with customers. Take a look at sites like Amazon, Etsy, and Wowcher, and you’ll often find that mystery boxes are also listed by genre.

Google

If there’s a specific niche mystery box you’re looking for, it’s always worth seeking it out. There are so many websites out there that sell mystery boxes that you will undoubtedly find what you are looking for.

As with purchasing anything online, make sure you buy from a reputable retailer and a secure website.

Meanwhile, a fourth said: “Beautiful pieces.”

“The way I love each one!! Good buy 11/10”, said a fifth.

Someone else added: “OMG I love it.”
