A baker has shared a shocking low-budget request a bride made for her wedding.

They revealed the “delusional” bride tried to order an $850 cake for just $50.

Editor RainbowSprinkles4 shared their wedding story in a post.

They explained that they were initially excited about making a cake for her wedding.

“I was so excited to receive a question about how to make a wedding cake on my home bakery’s Instagram account,” they said.

“The lady gave me her phone number to sort out the details, so I called her.

“She informed me immediately that she did not want her time to be wasted and if I was not serious about doing this then I should let her know immediately.

“She told me her wedding was in December and that she just wanted all the details arranged and done. I told her I wasn’t in the business of committing to huge projects without some details, so I asked her what she was thinking.”

Their demands included three layers of cake “supported on a shiny acrylic stand.”

“She wanted fresh flowers (white roses and baby’s breath) cascading around the cakes, which should use that quilting technique as a base.

“OR if I could use a mix of fresh and sweet flowers, that would be acceptable too.”

They added that their demands became increasingly detailed, which required more work.

“But she knew if the sugar flowers were store-bought, so I had to make them myself,” they said.

“She wanted the base layer to be chocolate, the middle layer to be carrot and the top layer to be strawberry.

“She also wanted one of those little toy dogs that you hide in the back with a little piece removed to make it look like it bit into the cake.

“This dog should be an Australian Shepard because that’s what she and her fiancé have. And if I couldn’t find an Australian Shepard doll or toy, I should make one out of fondant.”

I told her I would have to do some math and come up with prices, but I think she could anticipate a minimum of $850 to $900.

The icing on the cake, they added, came when she asked about the cost of the food.

“She asked me how much I would charge for a cake like that,” they said.

“She informed me that she is local and has heard really good things. She saw my ads on Instagram and they want this to be a killer celebration.

“I told her I would have to do some math and pricing, but I think she could anticipate a minimum of $850 to $900 (which I know was low, but I needed some time to do some shopping and mathematics).”

“She told me she wanted it for 50.”

After hearing the number, the baker decided to initially give it the benefit of the doubt.

“I got ready and decided to make a fool of myself, so I said, ‘That’s a lot of cake for 50 people.’ The rest of the conversation followed:

“She: ‘Nooooo, fifty DOLLARS.’ Me: ‘Do you want to spend $50 on ingredients?’

“Her: ‘NO. For the CAKE. THE WHOLE CAKE.’ Me: ‘$50 can’t buy FLOWERS for a cake this size.’

“She: ‘Well, that’s our budget, take it or leave it!’ Me: ‘Okay, I’m leaving.’ Her: ‘Oh, that’s great. Are you new to this?’

After calling the bride “delusional”, she accused the baker of being “grumpy”.

“I’m going somewhere else,” she said.

“Good luck; $50 isn’t worth three PLAIN cakes at WALMART,” the baker replied.

Viewers were shocked by the awkward interaction, with many joking that the bride should get the bread.

“Let’s all wish you the best of luck on your wedding cake price reality journey. It won’t work out for her,” said one commenter.

“$50? Hahahaha, go to Costco for cupcakes you cheapskate,” said another.
