A mother brutally criticized a nursery for excluding her son from graduation for a “silly” reason.

As we quickly approach September, for many daycare-goers this means just one thing: saying goodbye to their little playmates and heading off to school. big school.

Unfortunately, one boy will have to miss his graduation ceremony – but not because his family is on vacation or because his parents don’t want him to attend.

According to the mother, her son was banned from the ceremony as she took to the popular forum Mumsnet to express her fury.

The mother – who considered the nursery graduations “silly” – explained that her son had recently joined the nursery and claimed that staff were now refusing him entry.

”I know these nursery graduations are a bit silly anyway, but my D.S. [dear son] joined his daycare a few months ago, and they said that since he has only been there a few months, he will not participate in the graduation ceremony,” she wrote in the post.

What’s more, the mother insisted that staff agree for her son to take part in rehearsals for the big day – however, he will not be able to attend.

”They said they would include him in signings, etc., but they ordered the cap and gowns a long time ago and it’s just for the kids who were there the whole time.”

Annoyed, she added that the daycare center did not contact the family to inform them of the decision and it was announced in front of everyone.

”I don’t understand how they could talk and say yes, let’s leave this child out of this.

”They didn’t tell us that either, they just put it out to the entire class, and he’s literally the only one it applies to.

”It was only when I asked about it that they told me!”

I’m a daycare teacher and there are four end-of-year gifts that I hate

Equally shocked were fellow Mumsnet users who rushed to the comments to criticize the nursery for the “irrational” and cruel decision.

One supporter said: “This is incredibly cruel. Just be glad he’s leaving, I suppose.

Another agreed, adding: “This is really cruel. Who cares about caps and gowns for 4 year olds?

“Half of them will probably take them off before any ceremony begins.”

What is a nursery graduation – and why does it exist?

While daycare graduation ceremonies have long been popular in the US and across Europe, the concept is still relatively new in the UK.

Although some often consider it a waste of time, the purpose of kindergarten graduation is to teach children how to enter a new chapter in their lives.

The ceremony, which sometimes also features the little ones wearing a cape and mini mortar, includes a short but sweet speech, often followed by the graduates collecting their certificates and performing for their families.

This is not just a time to celebrate your children’s achievements, graduation is also an opportunity to say goodbye to their classmates who, in some cases, will be moving on to different elementary schools.

It also gives you the opportunity to thank all the teachers and staff who were there the entire time.

A third chimed in: ”This is horrible! I don’t like the whole nursery graduation thing, they’re not graduating and the cap and gown is for when you have a diploma, but if all his classmates are doing it and he’s also leaving to go to school that It’s horrible. ”

Someone thought: ”Ugh. I didn’t know we did the cap and gown thing here.

“I suppose if they can’t get him a dress, they can’t, but there has to be a way to include him.”

One social media user stated: ”I mean the kids won’t mind if his dress looks a little different, just buy one on Amazon.”
