However, one woman recently took a different approach to sharing the wonderful news with her husband – and the “disgusting” announcement scared social media users.

The woman, Mari, from the USA, decided to surprise her partner, Chan, during a visit to a restaurant while he was patiently waiting for his food to arrive.
But little did the totally unsuspecting guy know that the dish would come with a surprise – Mari’s pregnancy test, which she sneakily placed inside the plastic cup.
According to Mari, she initially planned to announce the big news “in the traditional way” – but decided to “change”.
“Because he loves food and he loves snacks, I thought, ‘Why don’t I put it in his favorite snack?” she explained on Instagram.
Before serving the dish to her husband, Mari quickly took out her plastic test, dipped it in a sticky sauce that appeared to be tamarind, and topped it with Tajin seasoning.
With the epic surprise ready, the mom-to-be, who is currently 18 weeks into her journey, handed the special gift to Chan, who couldn’t wait to eat it.
To avoid any suspicion, Mari also told her boyfriend that the place had replaced the Tamarindo sticks.
“They ran out of them, so now they have these — and these are so much better,” she can be heard saying in the video now viral.
After being encouraged to try the new stick, Chan pulled it out and took a bite of it – before realizing what it actually was.
Utterly shocked, Chan asked his wife if she was pregnant – but quickly branded Mari “nasty” when she admitted she hadn’t washed the container.
Happy with herself, Mari posted the clip on social media – where the response was brutal.
One horrified user said: “So you pissed on it and then put it in a drink.”
Someone agreed, writing: “This is really disgusting. There are many other ways you could have done this.”
“No but why would you think putting something you peed on in his drink and telling him to bite into it was a cute idea,” read another comment on the video, which has been viewed more than 17 million times.
“If I were your husband we would be finished,” a mortified viewer was left disgusted by the “disturbing” act.

Luckily for Mari, it appears the announcement hasn’t discouraged Chan, as the pair have been uploading content sharing their pregnancy journey.
