Going on vacation is great, but it can be disastrous for your plants if you don’t water them in the summer.

One woman decided to get around the problem by paying a neighbor for help, but things didn’t end well.

She revealed how she paid a whopping $315 (£245) for him to look after her garden when she was on holiday.

However, despite the large payment, he appears to have neglected his duties, leaving some of his flowers in a sad state.

TikTok User @nosso1972manuhome shared: “POV, you paid your neighbor $315 to water your garden while you were on vacation.

“…and he said ‘don’t worry about it! Enjoy your holidays!'”

She then posted a crying emoji while showing off her “poor petunias.”

In the clip she showed her hanging baskets which looked very dead and in serious need of TLC.

Fortunately, the rest of the garden looked in full bloom, so he appears to have only neglected a portion of the outdoor space.

People were quick to comment on the garden accident, with one saying: “We should be neighbors. I would have done it for free.”

Another added: “In your defense, you said water the garden, not the hanging baskets.”

And a third commented: “Never pay until you get back. It’s not even distrust, that’s how it is and should be.”

We built a privacy wall after spotting our neighbor spying on our garden – she took revenge with a disgusting tactic

Now that the kids have split up for the summer holidaysparents will be eager to take their children on a well-deserved vacation.

And most homeowners often rely on their neighbor to keep their home safe while they are away.

But one mother revealed that she simply can’t, as her neighbor “borrows” her garden whenever she goes on holiday – she even wants to organize her son’s birthday party there.

The father decided to access the online forum Mothers Network to share your disappointment at believing your neighbor was secretly using your garden without your permission.

All Your Hanging Baskets Needed TLC

It all started in the summer of 2022, where the owner, who goes by the name of brown grandmother, they suspected someone was using their garden while they were away.

She says: “Things started to change and sometimes the hot tub would appear.

“To be honest we didn’t think much of it, with teenage kids (who denied using it) things often change and we were busy so we didn’t think much of it.

“Looking back now, that’s when things started to happen.”

But earlier this year, the family left and upon returning, a friend mentioned to her that they heard noises coming from the backyard.

She said after knocking on the door and no one answered, she decided to go through the side gate assuming they were inside due to the noise.

Grandmabrown continued: “They were met by a family, using our hot tub and garden, who told her we had gone to X location and would be back on X date (both details correct), they were watching the house for us.

“When we came back we were perplexed, questioned, nobody knew anything. We are part of a neighborhood watch Whatsapp group.

“We all keep an eye on each other’s cars and houses when we’re out and update each other if we see anyone acting strange around or any crime.

“We asked this group and no one had seen anything, but one of the group members helped my husband install security cameras and ring the doorbell and nothing has happened since.”

The top five reasons for fights between neighbors

A study by Compare the Market revealed the main reason why the British neighbor argues

  1. Broken Fences – At the top of the board were broken fences and whose responsibility it was to fix them
  2. Parking: a major driver of disputes between neighbors, with 54.1 percent of people having problems with people parking in front of their house, parking space or driveway
  3. Trees – complaints about a neighbour’s tree breaking their garden path were also common, with almost half of participants finding it frustrating
  4. Trash Wars – Outdoor Trash Etiquette Continues to Spark the Furiest Debates Between Neighbors
  5. Nosy neighbors – some people have eyes and ears ready to take a peek, causing trouble for others
