A FRUGAL shopper was left stunned after a pricey find in the second-hand store’s homewares section.
They said the thrift store issue surprised them because of the business they were purchased for.
Editor CrookedNinja shared their money-saving experience in a post on the social media platform.
“I thought I was hallucinating, all for less than $25,” CrookedNinja wrote.
The Redditor posted a photo of the household items found in the trunk of the car.
They were several pieces from Le Creuset – a housewares brand known for its expensive and durable cast iron cooking sets.
SOMETHING IS COOKING
Le Creuset website describes its products as nothing short of a “true original.”
“Featuring an unparalleled selection of rich, bold colors in a variety of finishes and materials,” the description says.
“Le Creuset is the leader in highly durable, chip-resistant enameled cast iron.”
Fashionable kitchen utensils have been a hit with culinary geniuses around the world.
CrookedNinja purchased the pieces in bright orange.
Le Creuset pieces typically have a full price range in the hundreds, depending on the specific item.
The Redditor added that they “even left some pieces for the next person” to “share the luck”.
THANKS FROM THE CROWD
The stolen kitchen finds attracted many other Redditors who shared their thoughts in the comments section.
“Where? These – in this color – my favorite color. I could steal it right now. Congratulations on the amazing find,” one wrote.
“This is honestly so thoughtful. What a find. I paid more than this for my little Martha Stewart. I’ll keep my eye out for such a great purchase,” another added.
“It must be Marie Kondo making people get rid of stuff. Nice discovery,” said a third.
“Someone’s mother probably died and the family didn’t realize what they had. They were probably thinking, ‘we’re getting rid of all of mom’s old pots and pans,'” wrote another.
“I agree,” replied one Redditor. “A lot of people who don’t cook have no idea how expensive these pans are.”
Some have expressed confusion about why Le Creuset’s line of cookware is so expensive.
“I always see people going crazy for this, can anyone explain its appeal? They sure are pretty – they’re just not familiar with the product. Also, congratulations on the discovery,” said one.
“Cast iron enamel coated pans are known for their longevity, plus look at those colors,” CrookedNinja responded.
