On a date gone wrong, a woman’s date bit off more than he could chew.
He asked her to cut her own food into small pieces.
Connecticut single Jenna Hernandez, 35, gave online dating a try and came back with quite a story to tell.
She matched with a man on a dating app and after chatting for a few days they exchanged numbers and agreed to meet up.
The pair met at a steakhouse because Hernandez’s date said it was one of his favorite places to go.
She soon discovered why he liked it so much.
DATE IN PLAY
After the pair began eating, Hernandez discovered that her boyfriend was not allowed to use knives because his mother did not allow it.
She couldn’t believe what she was hearing.
The mystery man asked if she could help cut his steak since his mother doesn’t let him use knives.
“I was shocked and perplexed that this happened to me because as an adult, I would expect you to cut your own food,” she said.
She explained how perplexed and confused she was by the situation.
Hernandez discovered that her boyfriend, who was in his 30s, worked in education and lived with his mother, but did not use knives because his mother “didn’t want him to get hurt.”
As the night progressed, Hernandez sat in silence, feeling as if he were in some surreal scene from a bizarre comedy.
Her story caused controversy online after she spoke about the encounter in a now-viral video on TikTok.
She used the popular social media trend “put your finger down” to explain the awkward encounter.
After detailing her horrific encounter, she gave the camera a thumbs down.
Hernandez also shared a Part two to the saga, addressing common questions from viewers.
CROWD REACTION
Several TikTokers rushed to the comments sections of both videos to ask about the date or give their opinions.
“I need to know how old he is, because what? I seriously thought you would pass it on to your nephew. Where is this world coming to? wrote one.
“I really need to know why he can’t use knives,” added another. “A background check is really necessary.”
“So his mom lets him use a vehicle, but knives are too much?” said a third.
“I’m surprised the mother didn’t attend the meeting haha,” added another.
“He was mad that you weren’t taking on the role of his mother,” said another.
