Before the jaw-dropping renovation, Mandy’s municipal kitchen looked pretty basic, with blue walls, standard wooden cabinets, white doors and not much personality.

But while Mandy didn’t necessarily mind it, she did reveal that her adorable pup had chewed through the cabinets, chewing on every corner.

The DIY fanatic, who posted the epic transformation on DIY with official budgetfirst got rid of the ”Denim Drift” walls and opted for a more neutral cotton tone.

Once that was done, it was time to move on to the rest of the outdated kitchen, which included replacing the square tiles with a more modern set.

However, instead of swapping out the old shelves and drawers for a store-bought version, craft fanatics gave them a new lease of life with a DC-FIX vinyl.

These films, which come in a range of designs, can be purchased for just £3.40 per 1m – and are perfect for a quick and cheap makeover.

These self-adhesive vinyl films are ideal for covering a range of surfaces in the home and workplace, whether it’s furniture upgrades, arts and crafts, and even TV or movie sets.

This removable solution is not only super simple to apply, but also easy to clean thanks to the durable, heat-resistant material.

To achieve the calmer aesthetic in her kitchen, Maddy ended up opting for a glossy white vinyl sheet that she applied to the old drawers.

The glossy finish perfectly complemented the baby pink kitchen essentials, including the pale pink toaster and microwave.

The beautiful shine that took over the platform was completed by applying the same film – but with a wood effect – to the old floor.

All delighted with the jaw-dropping results, Maddy wrote in her post: ”This is my municipal kitchen before and after, all made with dc-fix and on a tight budget.

”The tiles are also covered with dc-fix, it’s like wallpaper but much thicker so you can’t see the tiles underneath.”

Surprised by the stark difference, more than 1,300 members of the popular page flocked to comments to praise Mandy for her work.
