Excited about the renovation of her patio, the beautiful brunette took to social media to share a before and after of her transformation, leaving many in awe.

At the beginning of her brief clip, we saw the mother standing on her patio, before her renovation project.

She then confirmed: “This may be controversial, but… I painted my patio flagstones!”

What was once a dirty looking patio was transformed as moments later Shelley shared the coolness of her patio new look.

Thanks to a quick coat of paint, the patio looks much brighter and cleaner, and even makes the space appear larger.

The DIY fan said she doesn’t mind if it doesn’t last, as she loves the patio makeover.

She wrote: “Will it last?! I don’t mind as my husband built the patio as a temporary measure until we can garden.”

She then explained: “I absolutely loved it!”

Shelley revealed she used Dulux Weathershield Paint in the shade Sandstone, which you can buy at B&Q.

For a 10L bath it currently costs £42.

But social media users were extremely divided over Shelley’s patio makeover – while some thought it looked “great”, others weren’t so convinced.

A third commented: “It looks amazing and I will be copying it.”

While someone else wrote: “Not controversial, they look great!”

However, at the same time, not everyone was so complimentary.

There are reasons why no landscaper or patio builder recommends this as an option.

One user replied: “With the great British weather [it] It probably won’t last long. It will require a lot of maintenance.

A second agreed: “Get used to doing this every six to 12 months – waste of time.”

Another user said: “It will stay great for about two days.”

And someone else wrote: “There are reasons why no landscaper or tradesman who builds patios recommends this as an option. Yet people still do it.”

How to Repair Broken Patio Slabs

The paving experts at Simply Paving told Fabulous how you can fix broken patio slabs, no fuss.

Experts advised: “If you have a loose paving slab, it is unlikely that it can be lifted directly by hand. Instead, you’ll probably need a hammer and chisel to free your patio pavers.

“To remove loose slabs without damaging the slabs, carefully remove the mortar around the slab with the chisel and rubber mallet until the slab comes completely loose.

“Then, slide the shovel into the opening left by the mortar and remove the paver from the patio.

“When lifting it, place a small piece of wood under the shovel to act as a lever, making the task easier and protecting the slab underneath.

“When the paver starts to give way, place the cylindrical wood underneath it and roll the slab off the patio.”
