A WELLNESS duo made their own candle using kitchen scraps that makes any room smell amazing.

The fruit contains everything you need to brighten up your home and even keeps creepy crawlies away.

Emily and Levi Jensen (@emilyxlevi) share recipes and tips for a healthy home with holistic and natural influences.

Fitness coach Emily and nutrition coach Levi demonstrated in a Instagram Reel how they reuse leftover tasty fruit instead of throwing it away.

The couple took an orange peel and turned it into an eco-friendly decorative candle.

“Did you know you can use the peel of an orange to make a natural citrus candle?” Levi said at the beginning of the video.

This method is not new and has been used for centuries.

“Did you know that Muslims did this 8,000 years ago?” a viewer asked in the comments.

It’s incredibly easy to make with easy-to-follow instructions.

First you have to take an orange and cut it in half.

Completely remove all the juicy goodness inside, but keep the white stem intact.

This part will act as the wick of the candle.

You can eat it as a snack or scoop it out, but make sure most of the inside of the shell is visible.

Then pour olive oil into the orange just below the top of the stem.

My all-knowing aunt gave me the best laundry tip and I’ll never go back – it’s free and great for buying detergent in bulk

“When lighting, make sure the top is coated in oil,” Levi added.

One viewer also suggested swapping it for coconut oil to “smell more amazing.”

It’s a very patient process, so don’t expect it to work quickly.

It may take a few minutes for the lighter to dry the stem enough to ignite.

Not only does it “smell amazing,” but it’s also non-toxic and “even keeps bugs away.”

It’s supposed to burn for hours if left unattended, but some viewers have suggested leaving it in a bowl or plate.

“Maybe put it on a small plate so it doesn’t tip over,” commented one of them.

“Always put a candle in something fireproof like a glass bowl, especially these,” added another.

Budget-Friendly Interior Design Tips

Interior designer Judy Hoang shared her furniture tips with The US Sun.

  • Save furniture and paint it to match your decor.
  • Test whether an item is suitable for your purpose before saving it.
  • Shop for rugs, lamps, tables and pillows at Target or HomeGoods.
  • Invest in classic and timeless pieces.
  • Set up smart home lighting to save money.

Others had already tried and some were eager to try.

“I just did this. It’s hard to light the stem, but it smells wonderful,” wrote one.

“As an adult, I developed asthma and cannot use candles, especially scented candles. This could be good for me,” said one Instagrammer.
