Cass Heaphy, Digital Director at Direct Pavingpreviously spoke with Express.co.uk about the best ways to remove weeds from paving.

“If the weeds are really persistent, an organic herbicide is recommended.

“Once applied and weed growth blocked, we suggest repositioning the paving blocks with kiln-dried sand as this will fill the voids and help prevent re-growth,”

He said yards require a similar process, with a slight variation.

Instead of grouting with kiln-fried sand, the pro suggests using something like Pointfix or another epoxy-based joint compound.

This should work on concrete and stone patios as well as outdoor grout for porcelain patios.

“Both exterior grout and epoxy joint compounds are water resistant, so they will help suppress and prevent weed growth in paving joints.”

If you want to clean your driveway without breaking the bank, Cass also has some advice for you.

He said simple steps they often lead to big changes.

“A well-maintained garden and driveway will make the home look well-presented and cared for. Often, buyers believe that a well-maintained exterior means a well-maintained interior.

“General maintenance is good practice and, like most things, prevention is easier than cure.

“One of the easiest things you can do to spruce up your driveway, which can make a big difference in the appearance of your home, is to simply sweep up any unexpected debris.

If you leave things like leaves, twigs, fruit, acorns, and tree bark on your driveway for too long, not only will it look messy, but it can also stain your sidewalk.

“You will need to sweep or blow leaves to clean the pavement every week or so.”

Another easy solution involves adding natural color.

“While not the most innovative solution, planting new flowers is an inexpensive but effective way to reinvigorate your income limits on a budget, so it’s a good place to start.
