Evri driver reveals how much he earns per delivery and people say it’s the ‘perfect side hustle’

DELIVERING packages may not seem like the most lucrative career, but one Evri driver has shared how much he actually earns per day.

Isaac, from the United Kingdom, detailed his earnings from the company, formally called Hermes, on YouTube.

Your earnings may vary each day depending on how many packages there are to deliver, as well as some other components.

That said, on average he takes home between £60 and £80 for six hours of work.

They detailed how this adds up to the viral social media clip.

“You’re getting paid 50 cents per collection no matter what you’re collecting,” he said.

“A postable yields 38 cents, although some postables cannot actually be posted.

Postable refers to anything that fits in letter boxes – so you don’t have to be home to receive it.

However, most of their money comes from delivering packages.

“You get paid 47 cents per package delivered and there will be a lot of packages.

“And your standard box costs about 63 cents, unless it’s heavy or you have to use two hands, because it’s a pound,” he continued.

While this may not seem like a lot, it can add up quickly, which is a good thing. News for Isaac.

In fact, in another video, the driver said he once made £5 on a single delivery, as the homeowner ordered so many packages and gets paid for each one, even though they all go to the same address.

Typically, the diver delivers around 150 packages in each six-hour shift, which means he is quite busy.

“So depending on size etc you could make between £60 and £80 if you’re lucky,” he said.

After taking a break from her work on social media, people thought the role would be a good opportunity for those looking for a little extra money.

One commented: “This is the problem if you want to earn an extra £50 to £100 a week it’s a Cool a bit of a quick hustle, but my friend and I both work, and he earns over £750 a week because he earns it daily.

A second noted: “If it’s ‘your own car and depending on what car you have you’ll still be broke because some cars drink fuel fast so every other day you’re filling up at the end of the week £30 wouldn’t be better use a company vehicle or Uber driver.”

Isaac said his role helped teach him “self-worth.”

He said, “If you want to earn as much as you think you are worth, then be prepared to work as hard as you can!”

An Evri spokesperson said LAD Bible: “The post office is at the heart of our business and all Evri staff are paid above the national minimum wage, with the average post office pay exceeding £17 per hour.

“Evri is committed to good labor practices and it was this commitment that led us to be the first parcel company to introduce holiday pay, the right to guaranteed pay, an automatic pension scheme and parental leave for our couriers.

“If any haulier feels they have received a different payment than they expected, we ask that they contact their manager so we can investigate this immediately.”

Based on new research from Finder, around 22.8 million Brits are using side hustles to boost their income.

Among those aged 18 to 23, 68% will have a parallel situation in 2024.

People aged between 24 and 42 are not far behind, with 65 percent having an additional source of income.

Side hustles are less popular among older generations, with 40% of people aged 43 to 54 having one.

Considering that 23 percent of people aged between 55 and 73 and only 7 percent of people aged 74 and over earn extra money this way.
