A BRIDE has left people shocked after sharing her list of strict wedding rules – which her guests allegedly “hated”.

When it comes to your big wedding day, you want to make sure everything goes as smoothly as possible – which is why one New York bride has drawn up a long list of dos and don’ts.

But unfortunately for Ivy, who goes by @ivy.eventideas on TikTok, the rules were not well-received by their friends and family who attended the big day – as they said they “hated” them.

One of the “controversial” rules guests had to abide by was not to bother the DJ with song requests – if your favorite bop hadn’t appeared on the playlist, you’d simply have to wait until you got in the car to blast it.

In fact, the bride was so set on having limited music played at the venue that she was ready to send her guests to the local club if they were desperate to dance to other hits.

No wedding is complete without taking selfies and photos – however, Ivy reportedly told the photographer not to take photos of the guests.

“I didn’t pay $10,000 for random portraits,” the bride explained her reasoning behind the controversial decision in the video.

Planning a wedding is as stressful as it is expensive — which is why the event planner immediately shot down the idea of bringing more.

Ivy replied: ”I’m not stressed and paying for strangers I’ve never met.”

Those who attended the wedding also couldn’t go without alcohol for the day, as the bride wanted to ensure everyone truly remembered the special occasion.

But it seems that it wasn’t just the participants who “hated” the controversial list – hundreds of social media users were less than impressed.

Around 2,000 people took to the comments to share their thoughts on the viral video, which racked up more than 700,000 views in just one day.

I got married for less than £400 – people say I looked ‘gorgeous’ in my £20 dress and my man got his ring for £14 on Asos

Several pointed out the lack of logic, as one said: “Your guest can’t have a beautiful photo to remember your wedding, but not have alcohol to remember your wedding by.”

One pro agreed, adding: ”As a wedding photographer, asking for photos with your other half is cute, IMO, and gives you cute photos of your guests looking their best and literally takes 2 seconds.”

Someone chimed in: ”I mean, a private ceremony would have been nice too.

”You don’t need a big party if you don’t even like your guests.”

“I think I missed the wedding,” joked a fourth.

Are the rules of marriage right or wrong?

By Josie Griffiths, Fabulous deputy editor and bride-to-be

Josie Griffiths said: When I was planning my wedding in August, the idea of sending out a list of ‘rules’ never occurred to me.

The first two this bride created seem fair enough, but they’re also supposed to be common sense, and then they just fall into chaos.

Insisting on “approving” all photos before they go out and ordering guests to stick to a “minimalist” color palette seems very strange to me.

And rudely telling guests to leave you alone when you arrive at the ceremony and dinner — while also ordering them to come say goodbye before you leave — is a little crazy.

I don’t know how many guests this bride is inviting, but everyone knows weddings can get a little manic. Of course, it would be nice to greet and say goodbye to everyone in person, but I’m at peace with the fact that that probably won’t happen.

Like everything in life, when you get nervous about everything going a certain way, you’re basically setting yourself up for failure.

I don’t claim to be the most laid-back bride ever, and I can’t promise that I won’t be a little stressed if we’re really late on the morning of my wedding, but this is wildly over the top. .

I agree with the commenters, I wouldn’t bother going.

”Do you have any friends you can invite? You seem like a fun person,” one viewer wrote, while sarcastically dubbing Ivy’s husband “a lucky guy.”

This comes after another bride took the internet by storm as she claimed she forced her guests to help her set up the venue.

The woman, who posts at @thepovcameraapp5 on the platform, said she hadn’t hired any staff so everyone had to do their part – even her grandfather wasn’t spared the chores despite having back problems.

There was also a strict ban on just two drinks, as the couple were trying to save as much money as possible and also wanted to “avoid any family drama due to excessive alcohol consumption”.
