Although some men may exaggerate the measurements of their masculinity, the fact is that no two children are alike.
Although they come in a variety of different sizes, their shapes can be easily identified.
Darren Breen, managing director of iMEDicare Ltd – a British retailer that supplies erectile dysfunction accessories – says each phallus falls into one of eight categories.
From the hammer to the pepper or the mushroom, he spoke with Online mail and shared the top penis shapes he’s encountered in his 22 years of working in the industry.
THE PENCIL
Darren notes that men who have a pencil-shaped penis tend to have “long, thin, even girth with a narrow glans (rounder penis head).”
The expert, who has been in the industry since 1996, explains that although the length can vary from person to person, it is often much longer and thinner than average.
THE PEPPER
If you don’t recognize your dick as a “pencil,” then maybe it’s cradling a “pepper.”
Darren notes that men with this penis shape will find their manhood to be “exceptionally short (3-4 inches) but exceptionally thick along its entire length.”
THE CONE
For anyone whose penis falls into this category, be warned: you will never look at an ice cream cone the same way again.
According to Darren, men who have this penis shape may encounter some problems along the way.
He points out that the “cone” normally presents a linear narrowing from the rod to the tip of a pencil.
Occasionally this can be associated with ‘phimosis’ – a condition where the foreskin becomes too tight and does not pull back – which can prevent the head of the penis from expanding.
There!
THE BANANA
Is your penis curved to the left or right? If so, your penis is likely classified as “banana” shaped.
Darren notes that you may have been born with a penile curve or developed the shape as a result of an injury.
He references Peyronie’s disease – a connective tissue disorder of the penis that causes scar tissue to develop after an injury that can lead to “lateral deformity or hourglass shape”.
This condition will reportedly affect 7% of men in their lifetime.
THE HAMMER
It might be a handy tool you have at home for your next DIY project, but Darren says “hammer” is also the name for a type of penis shape.
He points out that anyone with the hammer will have a thinner shaft that leads to a much wider head.
“This is a narrow base that widens to a very wide glans – gravity makes it more difficult for this type of erect penis to rise skyward during erection,” he says.
THE SAUSAGE
Darren explains that the sausage-shaped penis is the most popular of all.
Detailing the typical characteristics of this specific type of masculinity, he says that the penis is of average thickness and length and has “even girth along the length and is quite typical”.
THE CUCUMBER
If your penis shape does not fit into any of the categories already mentioned, then you may be a “cucumber”.
This type is thicker than the average penis (about 13 to 20 centimeters in circumference) and also tends to be a good length.
THE BUTTON MUSHROOM
And last but not least is the mushroom-shaped penis.
Scientists claim that this specific form is an evolutionary design that dates back to the idea of infidelity.
A team of scientists in New York carried out a series of experiments to try to find out why the human penis looks the way it does.
It has been found that the thrust, as well as the ridge separating the shaft from the head, can help cleanse the vagina and reproductive system of a previous sexual partner’s semen.
This would allow the new partner to add their own sperm and have a greater chance of reproduction.
