Kissing your partner goodnight is going out of fashion as we are seduced by our smartphones, a poll suggests.
Less than half of couples – just 47% – end the day with a kiss, compared to eight in ten in 2000.
Meanwhile, more than eight in ten of the 1,000 couples surveyed said they preferred to whip out their cell phones at the end of the night.
The research, carried out by cybersecurity company NordVPN, wanted to find the most popular activities adults do five minutes before bed.
It found that most turned to their smartphones to check social media, messages, emails or News.
More than a third enjoyed watching videos on YouTube.
Marijus Briedis of NordVPN said the lack of cuddling before bed shows that people “pay more attention to their phones than they do to their partners.”
He added: “If things get hot in the room, it’s probably because the Wi-Fi is flickering.”
