Over the years, Love Island has exposed viewers to a world of adventurous sexual positions.
But what is the eagle sexual position and how to do it? Here’s everything you need to know.
The eagle sex position became a household name in 2019 when Curtis Pritchard said it was his favorite position on Love Island.
The phenomenon has led to “the eagle” becoming the most searched sexual position on Google, according to the ITV2 show’s official X account.
Two years later, Islander Faye Winter introduced us to the ‘Eagle With A Broken Wing’ concept, which has a sexy leg swerve.
Then in 2022, islander Paige Thorne confused viewers when she admitted that she loves The Broken Eagle during her first conversation with Luca Bish.

What is the eagle sex position?
The eagle sex position has become increasingly popular thanks to the ITV2 show and there isn’t just one way to get that room moving.
There are at least five different ways, so there’s a chance you’ve done this position without even realizing its name.
The spread eagle
The most well-known eagle position is the spread eagle.
This is where one partner lies on their back with their legs spread or spread eagle.
It is said to be similar to the missionary position.
You can find out how to experiment while staying in your comfort zone with a modified version of missionary here.
With open eagle, instead of leaving the receiver resting on the bed, as in classic missionary, the person has their legs open and upwards.
The exposed eagle
For this variation, the penetrating partner must sit on a flat surface and spread their legs.
The receiving partner then climbs on top.
From this position, to enter exposed eagle, the receiving partner will arch backwards and lie on top of their partner’s legs.
You can slide your legs down to either side of your partner’s hips if you need extra stability.
This variation is said to be better for stimulating the G-spot.
The flying eagle
This variation requires a lot of resistance and flexibility.
Firstly, the receiving partner lies on their back and bends their legs as far as possible – this can feel like a particularly challenging yoga position.
The penetrating partner will lean over them as if they are about to start doing push-ups.
This position can be done vaginally or anally – but you should start slowly.
The reverse flying eagle
This is an additional variation of the previous one, with the top partner facing the other side.

Songs:
The standing eagle
This may be the most challenging variation of the eagle.
Usually done against a wall with both partners standing – one will wrap one leg around the other.
The broken eagle or eagle with a broken wing
This variation of the position was frantically searched across the country after Love Island 2022 contestant Paige Thorne said her favorite position was “the broken eagle”.
According to her, it involves a person lying down with one leg bent and the other stretched out while the other person is on top.
The show also introduced many people to the Viennese oyster
after the position was mentioned in the last series of the show.
Is the eagle position popular?
To discover the UK’s favorite sex positions, the experts at OnBuy’s sex toy division customers surveyed of every town or city with a population of more than 100,000 inhabitants.
Missionary came first (or should we say last?) in 11 cities, including Bournemouth, Exeter, Doncaster and Lincoln, in 2020.
That being said, this number of cities DOUBLE chose The Eagle as their favorite sex position.
Not only did Londoners say The Eagle was their favorite, but 36% of people in the east of England also chose it.
