At $14 off, this is one of the best deals we’ve seen – there are many other pickleball sets starting at around $40. If you want to get into pickleball but don’t plan to invest yet, this set is a good place to start. You will receive two paddles and two balls, so you can start practicing with a partner as quickly as possible.

Spring and summer are the perfect time to play, and pickleball is a great excuse to hang out with friends. Both the paddles and balls are USA Pickleball Association approved, meaning they are the right size and weight. So how does this set differ from others that cost more? Aren’t all pickleball paddles and balls the same?

Not exactly. These paddles have a wood core that’s more likely to break during, er, a moment of frustration than more expensive fiberglass. Wood also weighs a little more; these paddles are about 10 ounces each, while fiberglass paddles tend to be lighter at about 8 ounces.

Still, if you’re just starting out, this set is an inexpensive way to get acquainted with the sport. The handles have non-slip grips and there are edge protectors that protect the paddles. Once you discover your passion for pickleball, you can decide if you want to purchase a professional-quality set.

Compared to other more expensive paddles , they resist and even exceed expectations.”

“I’ve been playing pickleball for several years and I still use these same rackets… I’ve played with $150 rackets and they’re just as good,” he said. raved a third fan.

One downside here is the lack of a carrying case, although just about any gym bag will work fine. Other buyers have noted that these are solid rackets for beginners, but as you get better, you’ll probably want to upgrade.

A customer shared“These paddles are great for backups. I bought them to have an extra one for when I introduce pickleball to new friends. They’re wooden, so they’re not meant to be highly competitive… They’ll be perfectly fine for a beginner until they figure out if They want a better paddle.”

Another wrote: “After less than a month of playing, one of the oars became warped. We live in Florida. Maybe the heat caused the oar to warp. … You take a risk and sometimes you get what you pay for.”
