Another user I also noticed the unpleasant smell and found a solution: “Previous reviews indicated that the silicone dampers on the inner tray were the problem, so I removed them and tried again. Success! It took a few more tries, but the smell dissipated as I used the air fryer. compressed air. I suggest removing the protectors immediately before making the initial pass and leaving them off…I use tongs or a spatula to hold the tray in place when I remove the food.
