A few months ago I had terrible stomach pains and flu-like symptoms. I chalked it up to a normal virus, but a few weeks later the symptoms returned. It wasn’t until I visited a doctor and had an ultrasound — time and money I’ll never get back — that I discovered that the salad kits I ate in both cases had been recalled for possible listeria contamination. Fortunately, I’m fine, but now I’m a little more cautious about keeping an eye out for product recalls.
This week, high-profile product recalls include Yogi tea bags, Aldi Cottage Cheese, Walmart chia seeds, Amazon smoke and carbon monoxide detectors It is Honda Ridgeline Trucks. If you have any of these items, keep reading – you too should act as soon as possible.

Remembered: Yogi tea bags
East West Tea Company has recalled almost 55,000 16-pack boxes of its Yogi Echinacea Immune Support tea – that’s almost 900,000 tea bags! — because “pesticide residues above action levels were detected”. No illnesses were reported.
Remembered: Aldi Cream Cheese
Last week, Hy-Vee and Schnuck’s recalled some of their cream cheese, and now Aldi is doing the same. The supermarket chain it reminds you of four types of cream cheese “out of an abundance of caution” for possible salmonella contamination. The recalled flavors are Happy Farms Whipped Cream Spread, Chive and Onion Cream Cheese Spread, Cream Cheese Spread and Strawberry Cream Cheese Spread.

Remembered: Chia seeds of great value
Food supplier National Sourcing International is recalling select 32-ounce packages of great-value organic chia seeds sold exclusively at Walmart. The recall is due to potential salmonella contamination. The affected bags have an expiration date of October 30, 2026 and lot number 24095 C018 printed on the bottom of the back panel. No illnesses were reported.

Remembered: Chzhvan combined smoke and carbon monoxide detectors
If you purchased a smoke and carbon monoxide detector on Amazon, pay attention. The Chzhvan brand is remembering 6,800 of them because they may not activate and warn about a fire. Although no injuries were reported, detectors did not sound the alarm in the presence of smoke in at least five cases.
Remembered: Honda Ridgeline Trucks
Honda is recalling more than 187,000 2020-2024 Ridgeline trucks due to an issue with the rearview camera. According to recall notice, the tailgate wire harness may break, preventing the rearview camera image from being displayed. This increases the risk of an accident. (Backup Cameras became mandatory on new vehicles in the US starting May 1, 2018.)

What to do: Honda dealers will replace the tailgate wiring harness free of charge. If your truck is affected, you should receive a letter notifying you of the recall by July 1st.

Alternative option: If your car is older and doesn’t have a backup camera, you can add this one from Amazon for less than $50.
