I’ve been in interior design industry for over two decades and if there’s one secret I like to share with my clients, it’s this: you don’t have to break the bank to get a beautifully styled home. There are ways to select a sophisticated look without spending a lot of money. And I have just the design-worthy feature: Wayfair. My favorite online retailer of everything home has a bunch of dupes that are pocket-friendly but pack the same punch as luxury brands.

You can furnish an entire home through Wayfair and even remodel your bathroom. And why not? WayfairPrices are competitive, but don’t skimp on style. This means you can get Elle Decor-worthy vibes for your digs without digging too deep into your pocket. To help you out, I’ve lent my designer’s eye and selected some of my favorite finds for less that rival the style you’d see at a high-end brand — they cost a fraction of what you’d pay for the pricey version, but still capture the look . I’ve even included a side-by-side for comparison so you can see for yourself. Each of the items on the left is from a popular furniture retailer and the photo on the right is from Wayfair. You won’t believe your eyes (or the prices).

Storage, storage, storage – I never tire of highlighting the importance of finding furniture that helps with organization, especially those with adjustable shelves. This versatile Pottery Barn Cabinet It costs $2,000, while Wayfair’s dupe is just $260. You can’t argue with the savings or the beauty of the woven rattan insert and natural wood finish. It’s available in four finish combinations to suit your aesthetic.

Ladder bookcase for bedroom and dining it’s on the left – can you tell the difference? I’ll tell you where: the price tag. Wayfair’s version is a fraction of the price, compared to $699, and has more than 1,000 five-star reviews. For just $74, snag a pair to flank the fireplace, use as a plant stand, or add to your bathroom to stack toiletries.

These gems are available in different frame and seat combinations to match your home’s aesthetic.

Sofa beds are a great way to gain an extra seat for guests – place in a living room, office or child’s bedroom. Wayfair’s blue-hued option for just $315 on the right reminds us a lot of that $1,899 West Elm Carter Lounge Chair that’s 6x the price. Use the money you save on quality bedding and mattresses.

Left: Parachute; Right: Wayfair

I recommend the luxury of linen bedding to my clients. It keeps you cool in the summer months and looks so decadent. But it can get expensive! That’s why I was so happy to find this dupe from Wayfair for just $170. It looks the same as this one Parachute Quilt but for almost $150 less. Plus, there are beautiful shades to choose from, including beige, gray, and sheer blue-green.

Left: LL Bean; Right: Wayfair

I love an oval rug – especially a classic braided option that looks equally suited to a coastal or farmhouse space. You know what else I love? Lay an oval rug outdoors to tie together a small patio. LL beans is selling a weather-resistant option for $499, but you can snag a comparable size at Wayfair for over $300 less (and it’s machine washable!).

This sturdy outdoor rope-style bench is on-trend for summer 2024. Shades of Light is selling the version on the left for $849, while the Wayfair version is just over $200. That’s the big difference for a Sunbrella-clad doofus that’s highly rated and equally stylish. Get a pair for less than half of what just one of the originals would cost!
