As Yahoo Life’s senior shopping writer, I’ve tried my share of water bottles in my quest to find the best one, with the Stanley IceFlow emerging as the best. I use it to stay hydrated while working in my apartment and often take it with me when I go out… sometimes it feels like it’s become a true extension of me!
Like Stanley’s popular Extinguisherthe IceFlow is built in a durable stainless steel body with double vacuum insulation to keep drinks cold (in this case, up to 12 hours) and comes in a stunning array of patterns and color combinations, from pastels and neutrals to brights and stripes.
What sets the IceFlow apart from the more famous Stanley is that, with the straw folded, it is completely leak-proof – a non-negotiable for me.
The IceFlow has a flexible hinged handle on the lid, which I find more comfortable to carry than the FlowState and other traditional cruising styles. Because it’s leak-resistant and the handle lays flat, this smart container is also ideal for packing: just turn the straw upside down and throw it in my bag or backpack when I want to carry water or another cold drink to the office or while traveling.
The 30-ounce size is large enough to hold substantial liquids while still fitting perfectly in my car’s cup holder, so I stay calm and hydrated during long drives (read: ride or die). It also fits in the cup holders on my bike and treadmill – and the top handle and straw are convenient for sipping during cycles and group workouts!
Although the IceFlow doesn’t have a lid like some straw styles, bending the straw offers adequate protection, so I’m less worried than I have been about other bottles getting dirt, debris, or other contaminants into my water.
Last but not least, because it’s such a great companion, “Flow” is extremely low maintenance, with a condensation-proof layer (no coaster needed!) that can be easily cleaned. And all parts are dishwasher safe, which has been a savior when a deeper clean is needed.
