A FAMILY faced a major unexpected inconvenience during their trip when they booked a rental car in advance but never received it.

Jonathan Gardner and his wife Taylor Lamb were traveling with their children to Texas and everything was going well until they didn’t get a vehicle they booked to leave the airport.

Taylor explained that she “booked everything in advance to make it easier,” but unfortunately, that reservation didn’t help them as she had hoped, the local news outlet reported. WFMY-TV reported.

The family from North Carolina boarded the plane, and when they arrived in Dallas a few hours later, they went to the car rental counter to pick it up, assuming it would be easy.

“They didn’t have our reserve,” Lamb said.

“They had nothing.”

Still at the airport with their children, the couple spent countless hours on the phone with the reservation agency trying to get a different rental car for the trip.

The rental company they dealt with even told them they would have to pay for a new lease.

The couple were urged to sort out any refunds they might deserve later.

“There was a line all the way through the airport,” Lamb said.

Despite it being a public holiday at the time, the rental company told the parents that they would have to bring the car, which they had reserved at the airport, back after 3 days and rebooked.

The return date was Thanksgiving, but the company said it forced the couple to do so because their credit card was maxed out.

It took about half the day for them to be able to reschedule a car for the rest of the trip.

“I think I explained my story about 15 times to 15 different people,” Lamb expressed.

After speaking with several representatives, the travel booking company told Lamb it would refund the money she paid for the car rental she initially reserved.

Weeks passed and the refund never arrived.

“They didn’t have our reservation. They didn’t have anything.”

After getting help from WFMY-TV, which sent business proof of his payment, the company contacted the driver.

Lamb received a call from the company and a refund check that arrived a short time later.

“It happened like this, within a few days I got the money,” shared Lamb.
