O Texas woman driving a Nissan sedan stopped in a parking lot full of water caused by flooding before it vehicle was taken away.

The captured clip of the event was shared on YouTube by Storyful News & Weather (@StoryfulNews) yesterday.

“Flash flooding left drivers stranded in parts of Southeast Texas on Thursday, May 2,” the cliP description read.

“As storms dropped inches of rain across the region.”

At the beginning of videothe person recording it can be heard saying they wanted to see if the driver they recorded crossing a flooded parking lot would “turn around.”

“Or whether they will try,” he added.

“Whoever owns this car, I wouldn’t try to drive a sedan through it… I really wouldn’t.”

He shouted worried about what the driver might decide to do before witnessing her getting into the worst of it.

“Oh, no way,” exclaimed the person filming as he watched the Nissan enter deep water.

“What are you doing? You’re literally walking right into this – what are you doing? What is this person doing?”

Bridge of the moment is destroyed in ‘apocalyptic’ floods in Brazil that kill 32

The water that rose into the parking lot came from a nearby creek.

“You’re entering the creek,” shouted the guy filming.

“No, no, no, no! Stop!”

He continued to scream out the window as the situation only worsened before him.

THE DANGERS OF DRIVING THROUGH FLOOD WATER

Use caution when dealing with flood waters.

  • Flood waters can contain snakes and insects; sharp objects and debris; and petroleum, gasoline, industrial waste or raw sewage.
  • Roadbeds can be destroyed by floodwaters.
  • Do not camp or park your vehicle along creeks and washes, especially in threatening conditions.
    • Move to higher ground if heavy rain or rising water occurs.
  • Creeks and creeks can rise very quickly during heavy rain.
  • Do not touch electrical equipment if it is wet or in water.
  • If floodwaters rise around your car, abandon the car and move to higher ground if you can do so safely.
    • You and the vehicle can quickly be swept away.
  • Six inches of water will reach the bottom of most passenger cars, causing loss of control and possible stalling.
  • A foot of water will float many vehicles.
  • Two feet of rushing water can wash away most vehicles, including sport utility vehicles (SUVs) and pickup trucks.

The front of the Nissan was submerged in water and the driver tipped the car into the floodwaters.

The car began to be dragged, floating in the water.

“Okay, this got worse really quickly,” said the person filming.

“Should we go over there and help?”

Fortunately, someone else came to the woman’s rescue.

“Good news, the girl is fine,” he said in the video as it showed someone walking towards the driver, who was now out of the car and balancing on a pole for safety.

“She’s out of the car and there are some people coming to help her now. That’s the important part. Her car? Maybe not so much, but the girl is fine.”
