Can you get two parking tickets in one day?

Unfortunately, it is possible to receive two parking tickets on the same day, even if you are in the same location.

Typically, the rule is that you can receive a fine charge notice for the same violation every two to three hours.

This means that if you park in a prohibited area for a long period of time, you could receive two or three tickets.

If you receive multiple tickets, you will need to check the times they were issued.

If there are less than three hours between two tickets, you can appeal and have the second ticket rejected.

Can a private parking company take you to court?

Private parking companies can give you a fine as long as they believe you have violated parking rules on their premises.

However, private parking companies do not have the law on their side to enforce their parking restrictions, but they do have the same legal rights to claim money owed to them.

This means they can take you to court if you ignore a parking ticket.

But they may choose not to do this since the amount of money required is usually very small.

Always keep the ticket and any other documentation or evidence.

If the car park operator takes you to court, you could defend yourself, for example, by claiming that the signage in the car park was not clear.

What happens if I don’t pay my parking fine?

The rules for avoiding paying for a ticket are strict and expensive.

If you do not pay the PCN within 28 days of it being issued, unless it has been canceled due to an appeal, a landlord notice will be issued.

The Council that issued the ticket will request your details from the DVLA and send a Notice to the Owner.

This is a legal document that will inform the registered keeper of the vehicle that a PCN is outstanding.

If payment or formal representation is not received in response to the Notice to Owner within the stated time period, a Certificate of Amendment will be sent.

This will increase the fine by another 50%.
