Nissan said it has adjusted its timeline for EV development at its Mississippi factory.
The changes made are to a pair of battery-powered sedans “to increase product competitiveness,” the manufacturer noted in a memo obtained by Automotive News.
In a letter sent on May 17, Nissan informed its suppliers to suspend development measures.
“Please stop all development activities related to [the EV sedan] project until further notice,” Nissan instructed.
The manufacturer has had several delays in its electric sedan launch plans.
Nissan originally planned to start production of the electric sedans in June 2026, but has suffered two delays so far.
Due to the setbacks, the production date was recently pushed back to November 2025 instead of the summer.
