TWO neighbors said they paid thousands of dollars each for new sidewalks but claimed they were left with unfinished work.
Ruby Jones and Humberto Gonzalez of West Knoxville, Tenn., said they both hired the same paving company but were ignored before the job was completed.
The neighbors hired Paving Solutions to lay stone chips and hot asphalt on their respective properties in May, according to the ABC affiliate. WATE.
This company had stopped by homes unannounced to offer their services, which both Jones and Gonzalez accepted.
Jones said he paid $2,600 for his work and Gonzalez said he shelled out $3,100 for his.
The pair said the company promised them a smooth drive, but said the workers disappeared after the gravel was placed on the ground.
Gonzalez complained about the state of work.
“Well, all the gravel is going into the street with the rain, as you can see here,” he said.
“Right here you can see the dirt.
“There is no gravel, everything has been washed away by the rain.”
Jones also complained about the driveway he left her with.
“There are grooves in everything,” she said.
“The first rain that came, there were ruts.
“I expected my entrance to be smooth and clear like it should be.”
Both neighbors claimed that Paving Solutions did not answer their phone calls after that, despite them receiving a guarantee for the service.
These contracts allegedly stipulated that the owners would receive hot liquid asphalt, stone chips and the unit to be rolled smoothly.

Jones also said his warranty would give him free driveway maintenance for 12 years.
“He wrote this contract, told me how much it cost. He said my boys will get the big roller to roll the gravel,” she said.
“They did it to him the same way. And they left and never came back.
“They should come back at night and roll around the entrance.”
Neighbors noticed that the company gave them business cards without a local address, email or phone number.
Paving Solutions reportedly responded to WATE and said it would redo Jones’ driveway for free in a few weeks when workers returned.
Gonzalez reportedly did not hear back from the pavers until this week, but said he hoped the driveway would eventually be completed.
The US Sun was unable to reach Paving Solutions for comment.
