This comes as New York Attorney General Letitia James has taken legal action against the app.

She alleged that the company withheld wages from its drivers by removing taxes and fees from their wages, according to Superior Class Shares.

James argued that these expenses could have been passed on to passengers.

She also alleged that Lyft did not provide its drivers with benefits to which they were legally entitled under state law.

Lyft did not admit any wrongdoing but agreed to settle with the attorney general’s office.

Drivers must meet four eligibility requirements to claim their share of the prize.

First of all, they must have worked as a Lyft driver.

Secondly, applicants must have done so between October 11, 2015 and July 31, 2017.

Third, they must have provided Lyft rides in New York.

Finally, these drivers must have had New York sales tax and Black Car Fund fees taken from them during this period.

The amount received will depend on the trips these drivers made during this period.

Lyft will share this data with settlement administrators so drivers don’t have to do it themselves.

Additionally, this deal will ensure that current Lyft drivers receive new benefits.

This will include a $26 per hour minimum wage for drivers outside of New York City, guaranteed paid sick leave, and payment for up to one hour of training.

What is a class action settlement?

Class action lawsuits offer groups of people, or “classes,” a way to come together in court.

These lawsuits are often filed by one or a few people who allege that a company or other entity has harmed a large group of people.

When a lawsuit becomes a class action, it extends to all “class members,” or people who may have similar claims to those who filed the lawsuit.

Companies often settle class actions – offering payment to class members who typically waive their right to pursue legal action by accepting money.

These payment agreements often include statements from the defendant denying wrongdoing. Companies tend to settle class actions to avoid the costs of further litigation.

Pollution, discrimination or false advertising are some examples of what can lead to a class action lawsuit at a company’s door.

Eligible drivers have just a few weeks to take action, as the deadline for claims ends on July 29.

Complaints can be filed online or by mail using a form on the settlement website website.

Lyft wasn’t the only company to set aside a lot of money for certain customers.

More than 279,000 Americans were affected by a data breach that was resolved with a $1.5 million pot, US Sun previously reported.

The breach targeted CGM, a wireless and broadband telecommunications company based in Georgia.

CGM has not admitted any wrongdoing, but eligible customers have until June 27 to submit their complaints.

The US Sun has reached out to Lyft for comment.
