The experts at DETAIL were called in to detail an almost perfectly preserved 1988 Cadillac Coupe DeVille with a surprisingly beautiful interior.

The pair said the condition of the seat’s leather and foam made them feel like they were stepping back in time.

Mike and Richard, the two auto detailing experts who make up WD Detailing on YouTube (@WDDetailing), gained almost a million subscribers by finding abandoned vehicles and deep washing them.

In a recent videothe duo were called upon to bring a 1988 Cadillac Coupe DeVille back to life after sitting in a garage for over 20 years.

The vehicle only had 35,000 original miles.

The exterior was typical of a stagnant vehicle – flat tires, paintwork covered in dirt and dust, and evidence of a strong presence of rodents.

The raccoons made the engine compartment their home and bathroom for several years, leaving their mark with destroyed wiring, a lack of fiberglass for nesting and “heaps upon heaps” of feces.

However, through the windows that were so dusty that Mike or Richard couldn’t see, there was an interior that the team was shocked to see.

The white leather seats and red interior trim were cleaner than any detailed car, and the seat foam was still soft.

“This thing is like a time capsule,” Mike said.

“I feel like I’m back in the 1980s.”

According to what the original owner told Richard, the garage was temperature controlled and had no sunlight coming in through the windows.

The consistent temperature helped preserve the leather, foam and vibrant red color.

The owner ended up discarding the climate control system and the vehicle sat there for 21 years.

“Time waits for no one and no car either, because this garage is no longer heated,” Richard said.

After the tires were inflated and the garage was cleared to move the Cadillac, Mike and Richard loaded the car onto a trailer to bring it back to the garage for a good cleaning.

The exterior underwent a deep cleaning to preserve the original color, and even the wheel wells received a pressure washer treatment before being deep cleaned.

A vacuum was needed to remove dirt and dust before washing the doors and side panels.

This is more like a Cadillac Poop DeVille and not a Coupe DeVille.

The chrome trim has been removed and polished, and most of the plastic has been revived with a good scrubbing and washing.

Lifting the hood revealed another area for the mammals to use the bathroom.

“This is more like a Cadillac Poop DeVille and not a Coupe DeVille,” Richard said.

Mike then removed the original chrome wheels and polished them to bring a vibrant shine to the surface.

The vinyl on the roof also looked new after being soaked and pressure washed.

The undercarriage was even washed to complete and preserve the showroom appearance.

The team used an electric probe to remove the vehicle’s seats to treat and clean the carpets and use leather cleaner on the seats.
