They give electric vehicle owners the chance to save even more

According to the finance website This is moneyThese few money-saving tricks can help power electric vehicle drivers on the road during the summer.

1. Gridserve Summer Sale

Gridserve has 190 charging locations in yards and on highways.

The company has now launched an app – and if you use it, you will get a 20% discount on your charge.

The discount can be applied at any of the locations and is valid until October 1st, making summer bookings cheaper.

2. Cheapest Home Charging

The Standard Variable Tariff was reduced to 22.4p/kWh on July 1, the lowest mark in almost two years.

Paying less for electricity at home means spending less on charging your EV.

Drivers who can charge at home will enjoy the savings even during peak times.

Experienced electric vehicle owners can gain an even greater advantage by scheduling charging for off-peak times due to electric vehicle-specific rates.

3. EDF launches EVolve tariff Sept25

Energy company EDF has launched a new, cheaper EV tariff called EVolve Sept25.

Although the daily rate is the same as the standard variable, the off-peak rate is being reduced by 10 pm.

EVs will replace gas guzzlers… but the world isn’t ending for petrolheads

The deal gives drivers five weeks of nightly billing during off-peak hours – between midnight and 5am.

EVolve is available for any make or model.

4. Use the Intelligent Octopus Go with a smart charger

Octopus Energy’s Intelligent Octopus Go claims to reduce electric vehicle charging costs by up to 70%.

Customers can automatically charge their EV at the cheapest times.

The cheapest tariff combines with the Ohme smart charger to lower prices.

5. Drop Price Parties

Octopus has also launched “price drop” events – when renewable energy is abundant, customers can charge cheap.

This means EV drivers with Octopus should take note of predicted days for increased sun or wind.

When supply is high and demand is low, those with an Octopus Electroverse card or app can profit.

Electroverse boss Matt Davies said: “This is a huge milestone: for the first time, drivers can plug in and pay less on the public charging network when green energy is abundant.”
