‘I FELT WITHOUT HELP’
An American vehicle owner expressed that he had a serious problem with his car years after paying off his car loan.
Antonio Tigue confessed that the fact that his vehicle was remotely disabled while they were on the highway left him feeling “helpless”.
It was December 2022 when Tigue left on his normal trip to visit his mother for Christmas.
His usual trip is by driver from Marietta, Georgia, to Mississippi.
He felt like he had nothing to worry about because the burden of paying for the car was no longer his to bear because he had taken care of it.
“I’m ecstatic,” he was happy about no longer paying for the car.
“You have more money in your pocket from not making a payment, so it’s a wonderful feeling.”
On his trip, Tigue stopped for gas and panicked when his car wouldn’t start.
He was stranded in a strange place with no reliable transportation and resorted to paying a tow truck to take his car to the nearest repair shop and booking a room for the night.
In total, the tow truck, room, and repairs from the technician cost him more than $430.
“I’m not crazy anymore,” said Tigue.
“I just felt helpless, you know. I’m a big man and all, but being in a strange place is kind of nerve-wracking.”
