Wasatch Country Search & Rescue revealed they had to recover a stranded vehicle and driver on Strawberry Peak Mountain, about 60 miles east of Provo.

This service explained that the driver was using an unnamed mapping app on his phone to guide him.

They explained that the problem started when this person lost phone service.

This person continued their journey and after that took the wrong path, which led them to a dangerous road.

The incident occurred on July 4 and the 23-year-old driver was discovered at around 12:40pm in his Toyota Turcell.

He called 911, who dispatched the search and rescue team to find him.

“The driver was not injured, but needed to be transported off the mountain,” the Search and Rescue team said in a statement on Facebook. publish.

Mapping services can be a great way for drivers to find the best route to their destinations, but one step could help people continue to use them even if there is no service.

Google Maps users can download their routes into their app.

This means drivers can be guided even if their phones are offline.

Google Maps revamp expanding to third-party apps

Google called this feature Offline maps and can be found when users tap their profile photo in the app.

People should then select Offline Maps and Select Your Own Map to download.

Users can also get an offline route if they enter their location in the app’s search bar.

They can then click the three dots in the top right corner of the information panel and select Download offline map.

These measures could help ensure that drivers do not find themselves in dangerous situations, especially in rural areas.

MAPPED

Some Google Maps users recently shared their frustration with the service by making a design change for Andriod users, The US Sun previously reported.

These drivers will only have their start and end destinations displayed once connected.

This redesign also changed the full-screen menus with spreadsheet-based layouts.

More of the map would be shown when using one of the app’s menus.

Users can also click the new ‘x’ button in the top right corner of the screen to close spreadsheets.
