DRIVERS are seeing their cars break down after filling up at a specific gas station.

After nearly two dozen complaints from drivers at a single gas station, mechanics say they found traces of diesel fuel in many of the broken engines.

An Alliance gas station in Cupertino, California, about 50 miles south of San Francisco, is the subject of 23 complaints to the Santa Clara County Department of Weights and Measures.

This government entity was created to ensure that South Bay scales, prices, meters and pumps are accurate and up to date.

Customers told local NBC affiliate KNTV-TV that shortly after refueling at the same Aliança station, their cars broke down shortly afterwards.

“We called the tow truck and towed it to the dealership,” Alex Lau told the outlet.

“They told us there was diesel in the car,” Lau said.

And he wasn’t alone.

Deenan Gallagher, another customer at the same Alliance on the same day, says he had exactly the same problem.

Although her receipt indicates that she purchased and paid for regular gasoline, the mechanic’s assessment says otherwise.

“The technician found blue diesel in the tank,” the mechanic’s paperwork said.

Gallagher had to pay nearly $3,000 to repair his car.

Although private mechanics say they detected diesel in the failing engines when leaving that particular gas station, a county investigation did not find the same results.

Tests of the bombs from that specific Alliance carried out by the county did not reveal any trace of diesel.

However, the county admits that it only carried out the tests days after the problem was reported.

The county also admits that while tests didn’t show anything conclusive, it is strange that so many complaints came from one store in such a short time.

Over a two-week period, about a dozen people a week sent a formal complaint to the county after experiencing similar problems at the same Alliance gas station in Cupertino.

The county has since asked the state for help in the investigation.

“We are cooperating with authorities,” gas station owner Ed Hadad told the outlet.

Hadad further states that the store is cooperating with the investigation, providing all requested records and documents.

“Nothing pointed to a problem at our gas station,” Hadad said.
