In a rare warning, the US president threatens to suspend some weapons supplies if Israel invades a city in southern Gaza.

For the first time since Israel’s war on Gaza began in October, US President Joe Biden admitted that American weapons were used to kill civilians.

And he threatens to stop supplying weapons that have been part of US efforts “to protect Israel.”

The comments are the president’s strongest warning yet against a ground invasion of Rafah by Israeli forces.

But are Biden’s comments an attempt to calm internal anger as he seeks another term in the November election?

Or will it take tougher measures against the government of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu?
