Nashville crews working to rescue base jumper from quarry

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – First responders were called to a quarry in Nashville Saturday night to save a base jumper.

The Nashville Fire Department said units were dispatched to the quarry along Whites Creek Pike, where a base jumper parachuted and landed on the ledge about 50 yards from the top.

The department posted on (formerly known as Twitter) at 9:23 pm on Saturday, May 18, saying crews were clearing brush from the area and preparing high-angle rescue equipment to recover the base jumper.

According to firefighters, doctors are on standby. However, there is no word on the condition of the base jumper at this time.
