Atlanta police were on scene Friday night on Donald Lee Hollowell Parkway at Hollywood Road after receiving reports of downed wires at the intersection.

When APD arrived, officers found hanging wires and a downed traffic light and worked to keep traffic under control at the scene ahead of repair work.

The City of Atlanta Department of Transportation confirmed that the fallen sign had landed at the intersection and that they implemented a road closure Saturday morning.

Repairs were underway and nearly complete by 11 a.m.

A Channel 2 Action News Photographer was at the intersection Saturday morning as crews finished putting the traffic light back up and bringing it online, ending a road closure that had been in effect while work was underway.

ATLDOT has not yet announced the cause of the signal failure at the intersection. Channel 2 Action News requested more information and is awaiting a response.
