donald trump is well aware of the accusations that it has little regard for the well-being of its participants. On Sunday, he added fuel to the fire.

The former president was in Las Vegas, Nevada, for a summer rally in scorching heat — high temperatures on the track were projected at about 103 degrees Fahrenheit. Trump himself organized an outdoor rally in the city’s Sunset Park, where thousands of fans turned out to see him.

At several points in the rally, he addressed the heat, joking to supporters that his campaign had told attendees, “don’t come,” which he then bragged about and resulted in “only 20,000” attending.

But it was a moment when Trump jokingly commented that he only cared about his fans’ votes, not his supporters as people.

“I don’t want anyone to attack me. We need every voter,” he said. “I do not care about you. I just want your vote.”

As his supporters laughed, Trump went on to say that reporters at the rally would take his words out of context and tell viewers that the former president had said something “horrible” on stage.

Despite his humor, the former president couldn’t resist complaining about the heat during the rally.

“It’s 110, but it doesn’t feel like that to me,” Trump said. “I’m here sweating like a dog. They don’t think about me. This is hard work.”

It probably didn’t hit 110 degrees during Trump’s rally on Sunday, although similar temperatures were reached in the city just a few days ago. The former president spent the entire speech, however, in his trademark heavy coat and tie, perhaps contributing to the short time of his remarks – less than an hour.

He spent much of the speech insulting America’s immigrant population and describing arriving immigrants and asylum seekers as criminals, mentally unstable and “non-productive” members of society. The presumptive Republican nominee dismissed his opponent’s attempts to address border security through executive order as “tours***” and claimed without explanation that doing so would actually increase lawlessness. immigration.

His campaign rally was decidedly better than his recent appearance at the Libertarian Party national convention in Washington DC. On his most recent visit to the country’s capital, at the end of May, the speech came as a shock to the former president, who was booed by delegates throughout the event.

Polls show Trump as leading president Joe Biden in Nevadawhere the incumbent president won victory four years ago.
