A man died after being electrocuted in a hot tub at a Mexican resort, local authorities announced Wednesday.
The 43-year-old man was in the hot tub next to another person when they both went into shock, the Sonora state attorney general’s office said in a statement. statement on Facebook.
The man was from El Paso, Texas, and the other person was flown to the U.S., where he is in critical condition with serious injuries, NBC affiliate El Paso’s KTSM reported.
The incident was reported around 8:30 pm on Tuesday in the pool area of a private condominium in the Puerto Peñasco resort, the prosecutor’s office said.
Citing the attorney general’s office, the station reported that faulty wiring could be to blame for the electrocution.
