  • Melinda French Gates endorsed President Joe Biden on Thursday and Elon Musk is not happy about it.

  • “It could be the downfall of Western civilization,” the mercurial billionaire said in response.

  • In March, Musk criticized another billionaire’s ex-wife, MacKenzie Scottfor his charitable work.

Melinda French Gates gave his first presidential endorsement, and Elon Musk He’s not very happy about it.

“It could be the fall of Western civilization,” Musk he said in response to a X post by Ashley St. Clair, The Babylon Bee staffer, on Gates’ endorsement of Biden.

Gates formally endorsed Biden in a X post published Thursday.

“I have never supported a presidential candidate before. But this year’s election will have so many consequences for women and families that this time I cannot remain silent,” Gates wrote.

In March, Musk likewise criticized Jeff Bezos’ ex-wife MacKenzie Scott for her charitable donations.

“‘Super rich ex-wives who hate their ex-spouses’ should be listed among ‘Reasons Why Western Civilization Died,'” Musk said in a now-deleted X post on March 6.

And it sure looks like supporting Biden has earned Gates a spot on Musk’s list of bad billionaire exes.

“Too many supervillain arcs being pursued under the guise of philanthropy,” St. Clair said in a later post.

“Yes,” Musk replied.

For what it’s worth, Musk is not a fan of Gates’ ex-husband, bill Gates any.

According to Musk’s biography, the Tesla CEO was furious that the Microsoft founder had sold your company’s shares short.

“How can someone say they are passionate about combating climate change and then do something that reduced overall investment in the company as much as possible? It’s pure hypocrisy,” said Musk. counted his biographer Walter Isaacson.

Admittedly, Musk’s contempt for Gates’ ex-wife could also stem from his own distaste for President Joe Biden.

Musk repeatedly criticized Biden after Tesla was excluded from president’s 2021 electric vehicle summit.

“Biden held this EV summit, didn’t invite Tesla. Invited GM, Ford, Chrysler and UAW [United Auto Workers Union]. An EV summit at the White House,” Musk told journalist Kara Swisher in September 2021. “I didn’t mention Tesla once and praised GM and Ford for leading the EV revolution.”

The mercurial billionaire also criticized Biden’s handling of the Southern border crisis and accused the Democratic Party of being “controlled by unions.”

In November, Musk told journalist Aaron Ross Sorkin at The New York Times DealBook Summit that he was unlikely to vote for Biden. Musk, however, stopped short of endorsing the former president donald trump.

That said, Musk appears to have moved closer and closer to Trump.

Last week, Musk revealed at a Tesla shareholder meeting that he receives random calls from Trump. The former president, Musk said, was “very nice” on the phone.

“I had a few conversations with him and he called me out of the blue, for no reason. I don’t know why, but it turns on,” Musk said.

Representatives for Musk and Gates did not respond to BI’s requests for comment sent outside normal business hours.
