Fatal crash causes highway closure in Las Vegas, expected to last 8 hours

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) – At least one person died in a crash near the Spaghetti Bowl in Las Vegas, leaving traffic through the center closed Saturday morning, authorities said.

The post on and I-15 southbound to US-95 southbound were all closed due to the crash. At the time, authorities said roads were expected to be closed for eight hours or more.

No information was immediately released about the details of the fatal crash. The Nevada State Police did not say how many people were injured or killed in the crash, nor how many vehicles were involved.

Passengers were asked to avoid the area.
