Taylor Swift express his deep sadness and dismay following a deadly knife attack at a children’s dance class centered on his music. The attack in Southport, England, occurred on Monday, July 30, and left three children dead and several others injured.

“The horror of yesterday’s attack in Southport is continually washing over me and I am in complete shock,” Swift wrote on Twitter. Instagram Stories. “The loss of life and innocence and the horrific trauma inflicted on everyone there, the families and the first responders. They were just kids in a dance class. I don’t know how to convey my condolences to these families.”

According to the latest declaration from Merseyside Police, the three girls who died were aged nine, seven and six. Eight other children suffered stab wounds during the attack and five of them are in critical condition. Two adults also remain in critical condition.

At a press conference last night, Merseyside Police Chief Constable Serena Kennedy said: “We believe that the injured adults tried courageously to protect the children who were being attacked” (via BBC).

A 17-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of murder, remains in custody and is still being questioned by police. Authorities have not yet released the name of the suspect and urged people not to speculate after the name of an innocent person was shared on social media. The BBC said it learned that the suspect was born in Cardiff to Rwandan parents and moved to Southport – which is north of Liverpool – in 2013.

Following the attack, Swift fans also created a crowdfunding effort in connection with Alder Hey Children’s Hospital in Liverpool. By description, the Just giving page will raise money for families affected by the attack, as well as funeral funds.
