Former President Trump lashed out at ABC News anchor George Stephanopoulos in a late-night post about what he called a “nasty and totally inappropriate” interview with Rep. Byron Donalds (R-Florida).

Stephanopoulos’ controversial Sunday interview with Donalds on ABC’s “This Week” featured the pair going back and forth over Trump’s promise to pardon defendants convicted for his role in the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol riots and criticism of the recent GOP presidential candidate’s attacks on Vice President Harris’ race.

Trump called the anchor politically biased and claimed he had already given a softball interview to President Biden following his poor debate performance that raised concerns among Democrats about the incumbent’s ability to stay in the race.

“Liddle’ George from ABC FAKE NEWS was so helpful and kind, asking easy questions and doing whatever was necessary to make Sleepy, the WORST president in our country’s history (Kamabla is the WORST VP), seem alert and insightful, ” he wrote on Tuesday on Truth Social. “It didn’t work, but he tried!”

“Then I saw Slopadopolus violently attack Congressman Byron Donalds, a future star of the Republican Party, with nasty and totally inappropriate questions, the exact opposite of Crooked Joe’s treatment,” Trump continued. “The good news is that Byron swatted him away like a fly so no one would ever hear from him again!”

Stephanopoulos and Donalds clashed Sunday over the Jan. 6 riots, with the Florida lawmaker denying that Trump had ever promised to pardon all those convicted of crimes related to the insurrection. His reaction came as the ABC host, who previously served as an advisor to former President Clinton, repeatedly quoted Trump’s words verbatim. The exchange ended with raised voices.

The pair also discussed the Republican Party’s attacks on Harris’ race and heritage after Trump claimed that Harris “recently became black” during an interview last week.

Donalds refused to denounce the remarks, which were widely considered racist, and called them a “false controversy.”
