United States Vice President Kamala Harris’ presidential campaign saw a boom in donations following the announcement of Minnesota Governor Tim Walz as her Democratic Party running mate. In just 24 hours, more than US$36 million was raised, signaling strong support for the Democratic ticket.
According to the International analyst at CNN Fernanda Magnotta, this significant volume of donations is just one of the indicators of the Democrats’ recovery. “There are several possible thermometers to show how this recovery occurred,” stated Magnotta, also highlighting the significant increase in the number of volunteers willing to work on the campaign.

The choice of Tim Walz as vice president not only maintained Biden’s numbers in the polls, but in some cases even surpassed Donald Trump for the first time. Magnotta emphasizes that Walz will not limit himself to just winning votes: “He is a vice president who goes on the attack, he will play the role of the bad cop for the opposing team.”
The Harris campaign took a more aggressive approach, referring to the Trump-Pence ticket as “the Weirdos,” an expression that, according to Magnotta, “has stuck in the United States.” Meanwhile, the Republican campaign appears to be having difficulty directing its attacks, resorting mainly to arguments of identity and ideological politics.
