Vice President Harris is leading former President Trump in the battleground state of Arizona, while Rep. Ruben Gallego (D-Ariz.) maintains an 11-point lead over his Republican opponent Kari Lake in the state’s Senate race, according to new data.

O Public Relations HighGround Survey, released on Thursday, found that Harris received 44.4% of the vote, while Trump received 41.6% of the vote – which is within the poll’s margin of error. Arizona is seen as an election swing state after President Biden narrowly won the state in 2020.

About 8.8 percent of respondents were unable to answer or declined to answer, while about 5.2 percent said they would support a different candidate in November.

“Now that the primaries are over, things are starting to come into focus. As the newly nominated presidential candidate, Vice President Harris is starting with a narrow but notable lead,” said Chuck Coughlin, president and CEO of HighGround Inc, in a statement. “It’s a good start, but with the attacks already beginning, we expect some difficult times ahead.”

The poll also found that more Democrats said they would support Harris than Republicans said they would support Trump. About 86 percent of Democrats said they would support the vice president at the top of the ticket, while about 79 percent of Republicans said the same of the former president.

The poll showed Gallego getting 49.6% of the vote, while Lake received about 38.6%. About 9 percent said they did not know or refused, while 2.6 percent said they would vote for another candidate.

The poll was conducted among 500 likely voters in Arizona from July 31 to August 5. The margin of error is plus or minus 4.38 percentage points.

According to The Hill/Decision Desk HQ polling average in Arizona, Trump has a 2.2-point lead over Harris based on 10 polls. Gallego has a 5.9 point lead over Lake, according to aggregate data.
