United States President Joe Biden told reporters on Thursday (8) that he is confident in Vice President Kamala Harris’ ability to debate former President Donald Trump, following news that the two candidates have agreed to participate in a debate next month.
Asked if he was confident in his vice president’s ability to debate the Republican Party’s nominee, Biden appeared at first to not hear the question, before responding: “Yes, I am, as long as you keep him talking!”

THE CNN previously reported that Trump and Kamala will debate on ABC on September 10, after the former president said during a press conference this Thursday (8) that he agreed to the confrontation along with two others next month.
Kamala also told reporters before boarding Air Force Two in Detroit that she was “happy” to discuss further debates.
“I’m glad he finally agreed to a debate on September 10th. I’m looking forward to it and I hope he shows up,” said the vice president.
When asked if she would be open to other debates mentioned by Trump, Kamala said: “I’m happy to have this conversation about an additional debate for after September 10th.”
During a press conference earlier today, Trump said he agreed to a debate with Kamala on September 4th on Fox and September 25th on NBC – in addition to the debate now agreed upon for September 10th.
Asked when she will meet for her first interview, Kamala said she is talking to her team and wants to schedule an interview before the end of the month.
