Vice President Harris is 4 points ahead of former President Trump in three swing states with less than three months until the election, according to new polls from The New York Times/Siena College.

The research, published On Saturday morning, it emerged that Harris had taken the lead over the former president in Michigan, Wisconsin and Pennsylvania, garnering 50 percent support to Trump’s 46 percent in the hypothetical matchup.

Harris’ numbers mark a significant improvement over former President Biden’s in the same swing states.

In two separate NYT/Siena searches earlier this year, Biden accumulated 45% support to Trump’s 48% in Pennsylvania. Polls in April and early May, however, showed the president leading his Republican rival in Michigan (47% vs. 46%), but behind Trump in Wisconsin (46% vs. 47%).

Harris has garnered widespread enthusiasm and support from Democrats since launching her presidential campaign last month after President Biden dropped out of the 2024 race for the White House. She announced her running mate, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz (D), earlier this week.

This week, Harris made several campaign stops in key states like Michigan and Wisconsin. His campaign said 14,000 people attended his rally in Philadelphia on Tuesday and 15,000 attended another in Detroit on Wednesday night.

When asked about voters’ degree of satisfaction with their party’s candidate, the majority of respondents to the survey gave a positive answer.

Broken down by party, Democrats were more likely than Republicans to say they were satisfied with their candidate — 87% to 79%, respectively. About 12% of Democrats and 19% of Republicans said they were dissatisfied, according to the poll.

About 60 percent of independent voters said they were satisfied, compared with 37 percent who said otherwise, the poll found.

The Times/Siena polls were conducted Aug. 5-8 of 619 registered voters in Michigan and 661 in Wisconsin. The Pennsylvania poll was conducted between August 6 and 9 of 693 registered voters.

The margin of error for each poll was plus or minus 4.8 percentage points in Michigan, plus or minus 4.3 percentage points in Wisconsin and plus or minus 4.2 percentage points in Pennsylvania.

The Hill/Decision Desk HQ National Poll Index shows Trump leading Harris nationally by 0.02 percent — 47.4 percent to 47.2 percent — based on more than 100 polls.
