Conservative pundit Megyn Kelly criticized former President Trump for what she called an “incoherent” conversation with Elon Musk this week, a trend she suggested was “probably age-related.”

“And see… one of the reasons Trump gets upset with you is because I’ve been raising this issue for a while. And when he has what seems like moments of old age, I’m going to report him, and he doesn’t like it, and I can’t say I blame him, but that’s my job.” Kelly said Wednesday on an episode of her podcast “The Megyn Kelly Show.”

The expert’s comments were the first highlighted by Mediaite.

Trump participated on Monday night in a conversation on Spaces for more than 90 minutes with Musk on the social platform X, owned by the billionaire technology mogul.

During the conversation, Trump retold the story of the failed assassination attempt from his perspective and criticized Vice President Harris — who he is running against this fall.

Kelly, a former Fox News and NBC host who has a history of clashes with the former president, said during his conversation with Musk that Trump “seemed pretty incoherent.”

“I mean, it was like he rambled, he took a long time, in his rallies and in these exchanges and in his presser the other day to the point where you get kind of bored, you lose the thread, you lose interest, which is not something you’re used to Trump,” she said. “Trump in 2016, it was hard to lose interest in him, and I think that’s probably an age-related change.”

“So I think that’s one of the challenges of the people around him, who I’m sure are trying desperately to get him to stay on message,” she added.

Many on the right have pressured the Republican candidate to focus more on policy differences with his political rivals than personal insults.

President Biden withdrew from the presidential race last month amid intensifying questions about his age, mental acuity and ability to defeat Trump in November. That decision followed a poor performance in the debate, where the president lacked energy, had a hoarse voice and seemed to lose his train of thought.

Trump is scheduled to hold a briefing with reporters on Thursday, his second in recent days, at his golf club in New Jersey.
