The rivals in the elections for president in the United States – Joe Biden and Donald Trump – agreed to participate in debates before the clash at the polls in November.

“I’m happy to debate him,” Biden said during an interview with radio host Howard Stern, this Friday (26).

This is the first time that the American leader has explicitly said that he would like to debate his Republican rival.

Trump responded on his social network, Truth Social, saying he offered a series of dates that the two could discuss before the elections.

The former president also took advantage of the moment with journalists – after the eighth day of the trial on the bribery case – to call Biden into the fight. “Just tell me where. We are ready,” Trump said outside the courthouse in New York.

The US presidential debate commission has already scheduled three debates for September and October.

Trump, who refused to debate his rivals before the Republican primaries last month, has been challenging Biden in recent weeks to engage in a face-off: “anytime, anywhere.”

The last time Biden and Trump were face to face in a debate was during the 2020 election campaign, where the Democrat won.
